The 10th consecutive exhibition of the artist, who lives and works in the United States since 1999, is a conceptual continuation of his cycle “Treasures”, inspired by the cultural inheritance of the ancient peoples. The new ideas of the artist are connected with the culture of the Incas and other civilizations which inhabited the Andes in the past. Fantastic creatures combine elements from known mythological characters and remind to the observer of antique artifacts which however cannot be placed in a specific historic period and space.
Petar Velichkov is the winner of the George Papazov Gallery Award – 2007.

The installation combines different geometrical forms and drawings and the creation of an inner space formed by cylinders which themselves give spatial effect. The light behind these relief forms and cylinders highlights and outlines them. The idea of this project is that the form should not exist by itself, but through the light as well. And being an abstract space in itself, the installation is “enliven” by the spectators as active participants in the art-making process.

Shade and fire theatre “Fireter” is a project representing different kinds of fire show, stilts performance, fire juggling, fire installations, living statues, and other capturing shows. The main goal of “Fireter” team is to change the typical view of performance, theatre, show, trying to break well known borders between the audience, the stage and the actors by inventing new ways of representing ideas, unusual stages and also by choosing specific and innovative places for the shows.
